Update!!!

It has been a while since I have blogged so I wanted to give a short update on what has been going on. We are excited our church has been growing. We have been averaging 40-45 on Sunday mornings. Our church moved out of the house (it's nice to have my house back) in July and we are now meeting in a building on a main street. The men of our church worked very hard to remodel the building and it looks great! On September 2 we celebrated our 2nd year anniversary. It was a wonderful day, we had our highest day so far with 75 in attendance.
The kids are growing fast. This September we celebrated Joshua's 5th birthday and Joel's 3rd birthday. Little Elisabeth Rose just turned four months. Homeschooling has been going well, Joshua started first grade and Joel started K4.
Maybe I will update again in another year. :)

Ladies Tea

We had a Ladies Tea Party in honor of Mother's Day last week. It was a ton of work and lots of preparation but well worth it. I made croissant ham and turkey sandwiches, turkey tortilla roll ups, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, blueberry scones, chocolate chip scones, banana chocolate chip muffins, miniature cupcakes, frosted brownies, and peanut butter blossoms. It was exciting we had 14 ladies show up. All the ladies had a very enjoyable time. I love putting on events like this regardless of all the work.

Harvest Party!

We had a great night at our first Harvest Party! We started off with the evening service which was a little shorter than usual due to the party. After the service we enjoyed the delicious chili, corn bread, and biscuits. We had lots of desserts like carmel apples, cookies, cupcakes, pumpkin pie, and candy! The games and activities were a lot of fun. One game that is not pictured was "how many candy corns are inside the jar" and the prize was you win the jar which had a 5 dollar bill taped to it.

Church Update!

Church has been going well. On Sunday mornings we usually average about 15, sometimes more and sometimes less. Our last ladies activity went well. We had a lot of fun baking cheesecake and fellowshipping.

My husband and I had been praying that we would have a family who would come to all three services and a few weeks ago God answered our prayer. They got baptized and came out soul wining with us last Saturday. It has been a huge blessing to watch them grow in the Lord.

This Sunday night we will be having our Harvest Party. We are excited but with that comes a lot of work and preparation. I have already started baking some goodies today. We are having cupcakes, caramel apples, cookies and of course lots of candy. We are also having a chili cook off so I will also be baking some corn bread to go with it. Joshua is so excited because we are renting a jump house, we are also going to have fun games like ring the pumpkin and balloon & darts. Well I better go and start baking some more. :) My husband preached a sermon titled "Why Christians Should Not Celebrate Halloween" The people took it well and got excited for the Harvest Party. If you would like to listen to the sermon I posted the link to the Preaching Page below.

Ladies Activity

On Saturday we had our first Ladies Activity, it was learning to make candles. It was a lot fun creating different colors and scents. At our next activity we will be baking different types of cheesecakes. I am really looking forward to it as many more women have expressed interest in this activity.

Verity Baptist Church Update

Our first service was on September 5. We had 39 in attendance, many of those were friends and family from out of town. We really appreciated all the help and support of those who traveled to come to our first service. We had five people come from going out soulwinning. We had a nice BBQ after the service and got to know the visitors.
Our second Sunday morning service we had 12 which were all people from the community. It has been a lot fun and a lot of work. Lately I have been practicing the piano so we have a pianist for our Sunday morning service. My sister in law is the pianist but can only come to the evening services because she helps out in the Spanish ministry at my father in law's church. I have also been busy planning our first ladies activity which will be held on the 25th. We are going to learn how to make candles. We will learn how to make two different kinds of candles, one from beeswax and the other a mold candle. It seems really fun and I'm really looking forward to it.
